ABU DHABI 15 May 2017: Abu Dhabi Police has launched an initiative as part of the #Year of Giving to cancel black points issued to drivers in Abu Dhabi – except those related to major traffic violations.
This move is part of Abu Dhabi Police’s Year of Giving activities and its ongoing programme to promote positivity and road safety and urge drivers to correct their behaviour.
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director-General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police said that all drivers would have an opportunity to remove black points from their license.
He added that the new initiative should be an incentive for individuals who commit traffic violations to consider their behaviour and respect the laws, promoting the efforts within the framework of Abu Dhabi Police to make roads safer.
Brigadier Al Dhaheri called upon all segments of society to contribute to enhancing levels of traffic safety by following traffic rules as a community responsibility.
