DUBAI 3 October 2017: Amid recriminations, the general manager of a Sheikh Zayed Road headquartered firm, has walked out alleging non-payment of salaries and mistreatment of employees.
“Dear All, I have resigned from xxxxx Middle East and have left the company with immediate effect.
“Reason is inconsistent and non-payment of salaries to either my team or I,” said the British general manager, in an open email sent to colleagues and partners – including to Emirates News 24|7.
A short time later the chairman and CEO of the automobile trade related firm, sent out another email stating he did not know why the general manager quit.
“Dear Esteemed Customers, Friends and Partners,
I would like to apologize on behalf of xxxxx for the e-mail which you may have received sent to you by xxxxx the former GM of xxxxx.
Unfortunately, xxxx absconded from the company and the country in the middle of the night without notification to the company and/or his employees and sent a misleading and damaging message with the intention of hurting xxxxx and its employees. We do not know what prompted xxxx’s action or why he felt compelled to run away from the country without notice??
I would just like to assure all our clients and partners that xxxxx has been in business for the last 7 years and continues to be a growing successful enterprise fully supported by xxxxx Group. We are fully committed to meeting all our obligations and to service our clients at the highest level on service providing quality xxxx solutions.
Effective immediately, xxxx, a senior xxxxx Director, will assume xxxx’s responsibilities until another GM will be appointed in the near future. I will also be at your disposal to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
I would like to once again to apologize for the inconvenience and any concerns which may have been raised by a disgruntled employee who unprofessionally left the company without notice and deserted his employees and felt compelled to send such a damaging e-mail in attempt to hurt the reputation of xxxxx and its employees as an act of revenge.
