DUBAI 24 July 2017: Two time NBA champion, Draymond Green continued his summer tour of Europe with a visit to FC Barcelona’s training ground. The 27-year-old has visited London and now Spain during his summer break after his Golden State Warriors side beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 in the 2017 NBA Finals.
The Warriors power forward met with Barca stars Neymar, Ivan Rakitic, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Samuel Umtiti.
Green first met Brazilian winger Neymar over two years ago and considers the footballer to be a close friend. He said: “I met Neymar about two or three years ago. I was playing with the Warriors and Leandro Barbosa, who is also from Brazil. He came out to a game and we met him and we’ve been good [friends] ever since. We keep in touch, he’s a really good friend and a great person to be around.”
Having won his second NBA championship last month, Green knows what it takes to win and he sees the same qualities in the current Barcelona side. He said: “I think they are one of the greatest teams in the world, some of the best guys in the world. So it’s always fun to watch. One thing I notice is that the intensity level in every game that Barcelona are involved in is incredible. It’s always fun to watch.”
