ABU DHABI, 30 March 2017: The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), has opened a centre for subsidised food at Mega Mall in Sharjah.
It is part of the Year of Giving Initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The launch is set to kick off humanitarian and charitable initiatives and to unify the efforts of individuals and institutions.
The opening of the new outlet is part of a generous gesture from Saeed Mohammed Al Qasimi, owner of Mega Mall. In line with the Year of Giving Initiative, the mall has provided a free area for KF to sell its subsidised goods.
Mohamed Haji Al Khouri, the foundation’s Director-General who opened the new centre, said that the achievement was in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership to enhance the concept of food security, which is based on three pillars: availability of subsidised foodstuff, permanent presence of food commodities on the market, and the affordable prices of goods to UAE citizens.
He added that the centre is the ninth across the emirate and part of the subsidised goods initiative in the northern regions of the country.
