UAE condemns terror attack in Bahariya Oasis, Egypt

ABU DHABI 21 October 2017: The UAE on Friday condemned in the strongest terms the deadly terror attack in Egypt’s Giza province, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Egyptian troops and police officers.

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, assured that the UAE stood in solidarity with the Egyptian government in their fight to combat terrorism and extremism, said Wam.

These acts seek to wreak havoc for Egypt and its people, but it will not undermine the country’s resolve to eradicate terrorism, Dr. Gargash added.

“We are confident that whoever intends for evil endeavours to occur on Egyptian soil will not succeed,” he said, emphasising that “our Arab, Islamic and humanitarian responsibilities are clear in rejecting terrorist acts.”

Dr. Gargash expressed the UAE’s sincere condolences to Egypt’s government, people, and families of the martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Saudi Arabia condemns terror attacks on security force in Al-Giza, two mosques in Afghanistan

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the terror attack on a security force in Al-Giza Governorate, south-west of Cairo, and the attacks on two mosques in Afghanistan.

According to Saudi Press Agency, a source of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, the governments and the people of the brotherly countries. It also wished the injured a quick recovery, reiterating, at the same time, the kingdom’s solidarity and support to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan against terrorism and extremism.

Arab League condemns terror attack 

CAIRO: The Arab League has condemned in the strongest terms the heinous attack against security personnel in the Bahariya Oasis in Giza, Egypt, which led to the death of several Egyptian police officers and the injury of others, said a statement Saturday.

The Kuwait News Agency, Kuna, quoted the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit’s statement as saying that the attack reflected the importance of countering terrorism and ending all acts against Egyptian military and police personnel.

He added that it was important for all Egyptians to stand against the menace of terrorism to bring peace and security to the land.

Yesterday, an Egyptian security force was in pursuit of wanted elements hiding in Bahariya Oasis area in Giza. According to initial reports, when the force arrived at the criminals’ hideout, gunmen appeared and began to pepper the security force with bullets, leading to the death of three police officers and the injury of eight others, the agency concluded.

Bahrain strongly condemns terrorist attack

MANAMA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in Egypt’s Giza province, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Egyptian troops and police officers.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, BNA, the ministry expressed its deep condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry also reaffirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt in its fight against terrorism, and its efforts to combat all forms of violence and extremism as well as supporting all measures taken to achieve security and stability, BNA added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Bahrain’s unwavering stance of rejecting terrorism in all its forms and manifestation.

Kuwait condemns terror attack

KUWAIT: The State of Kuwait condemned Saturday in the strongest terms the terror attack, which led to the death and injury of several Egyptian police officers in Wahat area in Giza.

Kuwait News Agency, Kuna, quoted a source at the Foreign Ministry as saying that Kuwait stands in solidarity with the Egyptian people against such heinous acts, affirming that terrorism, in all shapes and forms, must be eradicated from existence.

The source expressed Kuwait’s sincere condolences to the families of the fallen officers and also wished for the swift recovery of the injured security personnel.

Jordan condemns terror attacks

AMMAN: Jordan has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Giza, Egypt, that left dozens of Egyptian security personnel dead.

According to the Petra news agency, the Jordanian State Minister for Media Affairs and Jordan Government Spokesman, Mohammad Momani, said, “Jordan stands alongside Egypt against terrorism and terrorist groups, that target Egypt’s security and stability. Concerted regional and international efforts are needed to counter the dark ideologies and criminal mindsets of terrorists, particularly after the successes made in fighting against Daesh, and the other terror groups that follow its path.”

Momani extended the government’s condolences to the families of the victims, government and people of Egypt, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

OIC Strongly condemns Terrorist Attack in Egypt

JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has denounced in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on Egyptian police forces in oases area in the Arab Republic of Egypt which claimed the lives of many police agents and injured many others.

The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, expressed the OIC’s full solidarity with the Government and people of Egypt in their fight to eliminate terrorism, reaffirming confidence that these criminal acts will only bolster the determination of the Government and people of Egypt to fight and eliminate terrorism and to bring about security and stability.

Al-Othaimeen renewed the OIC’s firm position on countering all forms and manifestations of terrorism, whatever its sources and emphasised the OIC’s full commitment to continue to work in consultation with OIC member states, affiliated institutions and subsidiary organs to counter terrorism effectively in line with the OIC Convention on International Terrorism and OIC resolutions.

He expressed his condolences to the Egyptian Government and the families of the victims, wishing quick recovery to the wounded.

OIC condemns Afghan bombings

JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has strongly condemned the two separate suicide attacks yesterday at mosques in Kabul and in the Doleena district in Ghor province, Afghanistan, that killed at least 60 people and injured many others.

OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef A. Al Othaimeen reiterated that these acts of terror go against the core values of Islam and humanity. He also offered his deep condolences to the families of the victims, government and people of Afghanistan and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

He further urged the Afghan authorities not to relent in their efforts in fighting terrorism and violent extremism.
